Book Review: The Secrets of Silicon Valley

Image

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing “The Secrets of Silicon Valley” a book by Deborah Piscione which explains how the Valley operates and how its “secrets” can be used elsewhere. A great read full of interesting stories and insights, if a bit relentessly upbeat. The subject is not my usual subject matter of investment and trade, but tech centres are an increasing feature of emerging markets, as governments and the private sector seek to profit from the benefits of highly innovative hi-tech/software/computing companies. Chile, Kenya and the Phillipines have all been touted as potential tech leaders in developing countries and technology and innovation is a theme I will return too very soon. The review of the book can be found over on the LSE website.
